The busy schedule for the OSCAAR Modifieds continues this weekend as they will head to Sauble Speedway for their eighth race of the season. With a mix of young and old filling up the roster, it’ll be interesting to see who claims bragging rights.
Gary Elliott won’t be behind the wheel of his familiar No. 36 Modified this weekend, but the car will be in the field with Rob Di Venanzo behind the wheel. Di Venanzo ran six OSCAAR events last season, scoring a best finish of seventh at Flamboro Speedway in July.
Luke Gignac will hope to keep the momentum rolling into the beach this weekend as Peterborough Speedway worked out very well with his second career series victory. Notably, he has only placed outside of the top-five once this year, including a fifth-place at Sauble in July.
A.J. Emms looks to build on his success he’s had this season as Peterborough was his first finish outside of the top-five this season. Emms has been solid in his previous events at Sauble, scoring an eighth and third.
John Harper will be looking to keep the momentum going, following a runner-up at Peterborough Speedway. Sauble hasn’t been his best track in the past, though, with just two prior top-10 finishes.
The driver to watch this weekend could be Cory Horner as he has continued to impress with no finishes outside of the top-seven this season. Also, it’s worth noting that he won the July race at Sauble, too.
Chris Milwain will look to keep the momentum rolling following three straight podium finishes. Unfortunately, Sauble in July didn’t pan out as well as warranted with a 10th-place finish.
Dale Reinhart is also looking forward to building on his strong run from Peterborough, where he finished fifth. Notably, he finished seventh at Sauble in July.
Tim Tolton is hopeful for a strong run, following three straight finishes outside of the top-10. He was strong at Sauble in July, posting a fourth-place finish.
After missing the July event at his home track due to fuel pump issues, Wally Wilson will be in the field this weekend with sights set on his first career top-10 finish.
Aaron McLean will hope to turn his luck around, following a 15th-place finish in his last appearance. Notably, he finished eighth at Sauble in July.
Marty Monette has had a roller coaster season so far, and will hope to see Sauble Speedway be the sight of his second career OSCAAR top-10 finish.
Adam Hagen hasn’t had much luck the past couple of events, posting three straight finishes outside of the top-10. He hopes his first trip to the beach goes much smoother with a top-10 performance.
After a rough start to the year, Jase Cornell has been solid as of late with back-to-back top-10 finishes. The beach could be the perfect spot for him to break into the top-five for the first time.
Cliff Hodgkinson has been impressive lately, posting four straight top-10 finishes. He will try to improve upon the ninth-place finish from his first trip to Sauble.
Along with the OSCAAR Modifieds at Sauble Speedway this weekend will be the OSCAAR Pro Midgets and OSCAAR Midgets. The full itinerary and prices can be found on the Sauble Speedway website at http://www.saublespeedway.ca.
