Kawartha Speedway to Become Alive with Racing in 2018 with OSCAAR

For race fans of Southern Ontario they will want to circle June 1st and July 13th on their racing calendars. On those two Friday nights, Kawartha Speedway will once again come alive with the sound of race cars.
The venue hosted two successful events in 2017 with OSCAAR and building on that foundation 2018 is going to be even bigger and better.
The June 1st and July 13th event will see the Triple Down event for the OSCAAR Mods. This event will be the first of its kind as the first three finishers in the feature will all receive $1000.00 in OSCAAR Modifieds at Kawarthaprize money. Last year the best Mod drivers took to the track with over 26 teams taking the green flag for the feature event. Cory Horner and Cole Powell took the winners trophy home in front of the excited crowd. With the returning veterans and the influx of Rookies in the OSCAAR Mods, fans will be treated to the possibility of over 30 Mods battling it out for supremacy in the 40 lap feature event.
The OSCAAR Hot Rods are ready to do battle at Kawartha Speedway on both dates. The second year series has seen a huge growth of cars, as Chevs, Ford and Dodge fansOSCAAR Hot Rods at Kawartha will be able to cheer for their favorite brand of race car. The July 13th event will see the Hot Rods compete in double features as a prelude to the dirt event on the 14th at Brighton Speedway. When the dust settles on Saturday at Brighton Speedway if the same driver is able to win all 3 feature events that driver will receive a $500.00 bonus. If that goes unclaimed the money will be divided up among the top 5 teams with the best average finish of all three feature events. Old school racing is coming alive again in Ontario thanks the Hot Rods, and fans you will not want to miss one single lap of racing excitement.
The Eastern Ontario Legend series will once again be part of both racing events. New for the 2018 season on July 13th Kawartha Speedway will be hosting the first leg of the Canadian Asphalt Legend Cars at KawarthaLegend Car Nationals. With a purse over $25,000.00 up for grabs entries are already submitted from teams from North Carolina, New Hampshire, along with several provinces. With a cap of 80 spots open to attempt to qualify fans are going to witness some of the best in Legend Car racing in North America. Several teams have also confirmed their attendance to the June 1st event looking for that advantage when the big money is on the line. Many of the great NASCAR stars got their start in Legend Car racing so this is your opportunity to witness the future stars as they start their racing career.
Joining the racing excitement on June 1st will be the Four Fun / Bone Stock invitational to compete for the 1st time in a number of years at Kawartha Speedway. This is a 4Funs at Kawarthagreat opportunity for the local short track hero’s to stretch that gas pedal out on the biggest speedway they will compete on this year. This is a great opportunity for the race fans to come out and support their local Saturday night favorites as they tackle Kawartha Speedway on a beautiful Friday evening.
As always fans that like to arrive in style in their custom cars / hot rods will be welcomed to put their prize rides on display along the front straightway for all race fans to enjoy. Two best in shows will also be awarded with a cash prize.
Fans will also be able to take advantage of the $5.00 off general admission coupon again this year. Simply have to show it on any mobile device or hand in your copy and enjoy a great night of racing at Kawartha Speedway.
