OSCAAR Modifieds at Sauble Speedway

The busy schedule for the OSCAAR Modifieds continues this weekend as they will head to Sauble Speedway for their eighth race of the season. With a mix of young and old filling up the roster, it’ll be interesting to see who claims bragging rights.

Gary Elliott will be looking to score his fourth straight top-10 this weekend as it seems he has put the rough stretch from the start of the year behind him.

Luke Gignac will hope to keep the momentum rolling into the beach this weekend as he has posted three straight top-six finishes. Notably, he will in contention for the win last year at Sauble before a late-race wreck took him out of the event. It’s also worth noting that he finished fifth at Sauble in July 2017.

A.J. Emms looks to build on his success he’s had this season with back-to-back top-fives, including a runner-up last weekend at Peterborough Speedway. Emms has been solid in his previous events at Sauble, scoring a win and three top-10’s in three starts.

John Harper will be looking to keep the momentum going as he has posted seven straight finishes inside of the top-four. He has three prior top-10 finishes at Sauble, including a fourth last year.

The driver to watch this weekend could be Cory Horner as he will enter with the points lead and momentum after picking up the feature victory at Peterborough. Also, it’s worth noting that he won at Sauble last year, too.

Dale Reinhart is also looking forward to building upon his strong run at Peterborough, as the fourth-place finish was his third straight top-five. Notably, he posted a pair of sevenths at Sauble last year.

Wally Wilson hopes to repeat the success that he had last year at Sauble as it was the sight of his first career OSCAAR top-10 finish. He has a best result of 12th this season, coming at Sunset Speedway in July.

After a rough start to the year, Jase Cornell will be hunting for his fourth straight top-10 finish following a ninth at Peterborough. The beach could be the perfect spot for him to break into the top-five after finishing fourth last year.

Duane Cinnamon will hope to have a smooth day at Sauble Speedway after failing to finish in the top-10 the past two races, despite winning a heat at Peterborough. He did well earlier this year, as he finished fifth at Sunset Speedway at the beginning of July.

Dan Price will be looking for his second straight top-10 following a season-best eighth at Peterborough.

The 2018 rookie of the year candidates – Jason Bowden, Jason Keen, and Jeff Showler – have each impressed this season with lots of speed and ability behind the wheel.

Bowden enters this weekend hoping to get back to running in the top-10 after his race ended early at Peterborough with a crash on the first lap.

Showler enters this weekend hoping to carry forward the positive momentum from a strong third-place finish at Peterborough. Notably, that marked his third podium of 2018.

Keen hopes to find his steady consistency once again after posting back-to-back top-11 finishes.

Tyler Di Venanzo will look to keep building experience with his third series start of the season, following a 12th-place finish at Flamboro.

Marshall Schrenk will be looking to put some momentum together following back-to-back top-10’s.
