After a week off to catch their breathes, the OSCAAR Modifieds are ready to return to action at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, August 25.
Luke Gignac enters this weekend with momentum following a runner-up at Peterborough Speedway. He knows his way around Flamboro as he won an event last year in June, and backed it up with a fourth earlier this season.
John Harper has been consistent this season with only one finish outside of the top-four, which came in the most recent race at Sauble Speedway. Flamboro is one of his strongest tracks, as he won there in July to go with a victory there in August 2016.
Gary Elliott will be looking for his second straight victory after scoring his 40th career win at Sauble Speedway. He knows his way around Flamboro from weekly competition, and has visited victory lane there in a modified.
David Balych hasn’t had the year he wanted as he has yet to score a top-10 in three starts thus far this season. He has ran well at Flamboro in the past, scoring a third-place finish there in 2016.
Dale Reinhart will hope to build momentum from a third-place finish, which marked his fourth straight top-five. In his previous five starts at Flamboro, he has five top-eights, including a runner-up in July.
Cory Horner will be looking to keep the points lead following just his third finish outside of the top-five this season with a sixth at Sauble Speedway. In his last 10 starts at Flamboro, he has posted eight top-fives, including a runner-up in 2016.
Jase Cornell hopes to keep the momentum going following his first top-five of the season with a fifth-place finish at Sauble. Of note, Flamboro Speedway was the sight of his first career top-10, which he has backed up with two more there since.
OSCAAR Midget graduate Wally Wilson hopes to score his first top-10 of the season following a season-best 11th-place finish at Sauble. Notably, his best finish to date at Flamboro is 12th in May 2017.
The 2018 rookie of the year candidates – Jason Bowden, Jason Keen, and Jeff Showler – have each impressed this season with lots of speed and ability behind the wheel.
Bowden enters this weekend hoping to rekindle the magic that delivered a fifth-place finish at Kawartha in June following a 10th at Sauble. He finished eighth at Flamboro in July.
Showler enters this weekend hoping to score his third straight top-five, following a fourth-place finish at Sauble. He finished 14th at Flamboro in July.
Keen hopes to find his steady consistency once again following a ninth-place finish at Sauble. He finished ninth at Flamboro in July.
Tyler Di Venanzo will be looking for his first OSCAAR top-10 following a pair of 12th-place finishes in his last two series starts.
Marshall Schrenk will be looking for his fourth straight top-10 after posting a ninth-place finish at Sauble. He did well at Flamboro in July, scoring a solid seventh-place finish.
Duane Cinnamon will hope to have a smooth day at Flamboro after finishing 14th in his most recent series start at Peterborough. He has done well earlier this year, as he finished fifth at Sunset Speedway at the beginning of July.
Dan Price could be someone to watch following an eighth-place finish at Peterborough in his most recent series appearance.
Beyond those mentioned here, there are other drivers that may show-up this weekend so be sure to be in attendance to see these cars in action.
