4th in Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified Points – Luke Gignac

Finding consistency on a weekly basis throughout the season, Luke Gignac would score a fourth-place finish in the year-end Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd OSCAAR Modified standings.

Gignac would show speed at Sunset Speedway before rains canceled the feature, scoring a runner-up finish in his second qualifying heat. He was able to carry the momentum to Jukasa Motor Speedway a couple weeks later, placing ninth in the feature.

Returning to Sunset at the end of June, Gignac struggled through the beginning stages of the feature to run just inside the top-10, but found his groove through the later stages en route to finishing seventh. The consistency followed him to Delaware Speedway, as he placed eighth in the 50-lap affair there.

Gignac finished off the month of July on a strong note, rebounding from early race contact to finish fifth in the feature at Sunset. He then ran inside the top-five all feature long at Flamboro Speedway, en route to placing fourth.

The positive momentum followed him into August, with a pair of sixths at Peterborough Speedway and Delaware Speedway in a three week span. He ran into the top-10 in the early stages at Flamboro, though was caught up in a mid-race incident. Despite restarting at the tail of the field, Gignac was able to rebound for a seventh-place finish.

The playoffs did not start off strongly for Gignac, with a 12th-place finish in the first 36-lap feature as part of the Iron Man 72 at Sunset, followed by having to pull into the pits early in the second due to mechanical issues. The team would make the necessary repairs to the No. 99 ADAMS Motorsports modified for the next event a couple weeks later at Flamboro, with Gignac scoring a solid fifth-place finish.

Despite early race contact and a mid-race pit stop, Gignac was able to finish off his season with a 10th-place finish in the Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway.

Through the season, the past series champion was faced with adversity at a couple different points. However, he continued to show the strength and poise that led to the crown in the first place, resulting in a solid season overall.
