With continued progression behind the wheel as a driver each season, Dale Reinhart has proven himself as a contender for the victory in any Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd., Touchwood Cabinets, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop event that he enters.

That’s why it’s no surprise to hear that he is ready to contend for the championship in 2020.

“Really looking forward to kind of getting back on the track, shaking the cob webs off,” he said. “I’m hoping to be at every race this year, trying to put a run together for a championship.”

With the goal in mind, Reinhart says the key will be taking it one race at a time, focused on qualifying for the top-eight invert and challenging for victories “one night at a time” throughout 2020.

Last season, Reinhart was able to climb his way up through the standings to finish eighth despite missing the start of the year at Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity.

“Last year with missing the first race of the year, it really set us back,” he admitted. “I felt like myself, as a driver, in some notes I wasn’t quite organized enough. We’re really trying to get everything on the right line to be organized and to show up ready to go roll, with the car off the trailer and not have any mechanical issues.”

If they have their notes in order, you can expect Reinhart to be a contender each week, as he showcased at Delaware Speedway this past season with a victory in August. It’s no secret the driver of the No. 51 is set for the pair of visits to the half-mile facility in 2020.

“I don’t know what it is, but there’s something special about Delaware that I enjoy,” he commented.

Though even with all their ducks in a row, it will prove to be a tough endeavor to chase after the championship as the list of contenders for the title continues to grow.

“It seems like every year, it seems to grow and grow and the competition gets better and better,” he commented. “I’m not sure how many cars we’ll have this year, but I’m sure we’ll have 20 cars a night. The nice thing is there’s a good solid 10 or 12 cars that could come out a winner each night.”

There will also be a couple new faces joining the series in 2020, ready to chase after the Rookie of the Year Award. To those drivers, Reinhart’s piece of advice is to keep the car in one piece each week.

“Sometimes kind of middle of the pack, some cars tend to get together,” he explained. “So if you can keep your nose clean and keep yourself from working on the car and having to fix the car, then you can focus on making the car better and faster.”
