Teams are already starting to think points as they race for the 2015 Championship titles. Race fans will want to ensure they arrive early to take in the car show put on by the Highwayman Car Club. Also performing will be the band Randy Plus 2 as they play all your favorites.

The schedule of events can be found on the OSCAAR website at www.oscaar.ca or www.flamborospeedway.net .

The Dickies OSCAAR Outlaws presented by London Recreational Racing:2015, Race 1 444-1

The opening round of the Outlaw season was an event that saw several teams recording their best ever OSCAAR finish, while others have dug themselves an hole early in the points championship. #17 Kevin Cornelius recorded his first feature win of the season and has laid claim to the early points lead. Kelly Balson #b10 and Todd Campbell #07 both recorded their series best finishes with a second and third. #82 of Corey Jones also had his best finish in OSCAAR with a 4th place with Charlie Gallant returning to action with a 5th place finish. The opening round also found several top teams being sidelined with mechanical issues and not the finishes they had hoped for. #22 of Glenn Watson #84 of JR Fitzpatrick and Rookie contender #29 Sean Grosman did not get the results they had hoped for. #89c Shawn Chenoweth is heading to his home track after motor issues in practice prevented Shawn from competing at Sunset. It has been a few years since the Outlaws have tackled Flamboro Speedway and the drivers are excited to return to the track, with a long history of super late model racing.

The HOOSIER OSCAAR Modified Series:Race 1, 2015 611

A field of 17 Hoosier Modifieds were on hand opening weekend, and the 30 lap feature event was one of the best races of the weekend. The result may have found the #8 of Gary McLean in victory lane, but #39 of Shane Stickle made him work for it. With the series heading back to Stickle’s home track this might just be the weekend that the #39 gets his first feature win. This years’ rookie talent let it be known that they are ready to take on the veterans. #79h of Cory Horner was the top placing rookie with a 3rd place finish. #77 of Chad Strawn discovered after the feature that as a result of a plug wire coming off he was racing with only cylinders and still recorded a 4th place finish. Gary Elliott has had Flamboro circled on the schedule all year as the veteran looks forward to returning to his stomping ground and the perfect place to pick up his first feature win. With a few more modified teams ready to compete this weekend, fans can expect a great Hoosier Modified event.

The Midas of Orangeville Midget Series:Race 1, 2015 562

While the Outlaw and Modified teams had a nice relaxing weekend off, the Midas of Orangville Midgets took to Peterborough Speedway for their second event of the season. In a race that saw a lot of attrition, the crews have been busy in the shop this week as they prepare for round three of the series. By virtue of his feature win on Saturday Richard Woodland takes a small points lead into Flamboro Speedway. With the level of competition reaching an all new level fans will be treated to some great racing that only the Midgets can provide. With a full field of cars each week the slightest mistake can see a teams’ championship hopes gone in an instant.

Fans will want to stay posted to the website and twitter @oscaarracing for all the latest racing news. In case of bad weather on Saturday plans are in place to be racing on Sunday. Please watch the website for updates.

Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend at Flamboro to enjoy the car show, the band and of course some great OSCAAR racing.

It is time to go racing !!!!
