With continued improvement each passing year, Dale Reinhart inched ever so closer to the top step of the podium with a third-place finish in the year-end OSCAAR Modified standings.
Kicking the season off at Sunset Speedway, things did not begin how Reinhart would’ve envisioned with the motor blowing up just 16 laps into the feature.
The team was able to get a new motor installed over the next couple of weeks to be at Kawartha Speedway for the kick-off to June, rebounding with a solid seventh-place finish. He then backed it up with a 10th at Jukasa Motor Speedway.
Returning back to Sunset on Canada Day weekend brought another tough run, with Reinhart crossing the line in 15th. However, he was once again able to turn his luck around, making his way forward steadily at Kawartha for a fourth-place finish. He then won a heat at Flamboro Speedway, before making the late-race pass to score a runner-up finish to John Harper.
The momentum followed him into August as he ran up front at Peterborough Speedway, scoring a fourth-place finish. He then cracked the podium at Sauble Speedway with a third, before returning to the beach a month later to score his first career series victory. The win did not come easily, though, with series veterans Gary Elliott and Harper on his tail throughout the event.
Kicking off the short track playoffs at Sunset, he was finally able to turn his luck around at the Innisfil, Ontario oval. He avoided the incidents that plagued fellow competitors, making his way forward after starting ninth to score a second-place finish to Gary McLean. He once again ran up front at Flamboro Speedway inside the top-three through the first half of the event, before fading back to seventh by the checkered flag.
He then capped off the season with an 11th at Peterborough after being involved in a pair of incidents.
