Finding speed into the second half of the season, Ryan Dick was able to cap off the 2021 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It season ranked seventh in the year-end standings.
Unfortunately, Dick’s season started off on a rough note, as he ran into mechanical issues on the third lap of the opening feature of the year, resulting in a 19th-place finish. He returned to Sunset Speedway two weeks later, battling inside the top-10 all race long en route to a ninth.
Starting mid-pack after qualifying was rained out at Sauble Speedway, he was unable to make up much ground en route to placing 11th. The struggles followed him back to Sunset, as he scored a 13th after a pair of spins in the feature.
He was able to rebound at the biggest track on the schedule, battling inside the top-10 to place eighth at Delaware Speedway. He kept the momentum going to Flamboro Speedway, making his way forward in the feature to finish fifth for a season-best performance.
He followed it up with a runner-up in one of his qualifying heats at Peterborough Speedway, before placing 11th in the Autumn Colours Classic 50-lap feature.
Although there were no checkered flags, the continued progress further towards the front of the field has belief that a win is just around the corner.
The 2021 OSCAAR Modified season is sponsored by Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, Just Foam It, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd., The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, American Racer, and Grisdale Race Products.
