Living up to his nickname of being Relentless, Tommy Robb kept on swinging en route to placing eighth in the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It standings.
A third-place in the first JRS Auctions heat at Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity, allowed him to start mid-pack for the 40 lap feature powered by Touchwood Cabinets. He battled throughout, en route to a ninth-place finish. Unfortunately, the luck did not follow him to Sauble Speedway with a 13th in the feature.
Another strong qualifying effort at Sunset allowed him to start 10th in June, with him battling inside the top-10 throughout en route to placing 10th. Unfortunately, the sway of luck happened again, as he was one of the drivers involved in the Lap 1 wreck at Delaware Speedway. The team worked through the night to fix the damage sustained, allowing him to return on Saturday to the half-mile for an 11th.
He was able to end off the month of July placing 12th at Sunset, but suffered an early end to his feature at Peterborough Speedway with mechanical issues on the backstretch. His team made the necessary repairs again, allowing him to place 15th at Flamboro Speedway.
He kicked off the playoffs with a 13th at Delaware, only to suffer a motor failure in qualifying a week later at Flamboro. The team made the repairs necessary for him to run the Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough, where he’d finish 13th following a late-race incident.
Despite some rocky moments over the year, there were certainly some positives for Robb to look back on.
