Putting together some of his best career runs, Wally Wilson placed seventh in the year-end Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It.
Wilson started off the year with a solid 13th in Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity, followed by a 15th at his home-track at Sauble Speedway. He then carried the momentum back to Sunset with a 14th.
Unfortunately, the month of July did not start off on a solid note as mechanical gremlins saw Wilson head down pit road during the feature presented by Touchwood Cabinets at Delaware Speedway. He was credited with a ninth. He returned to the half-mile on Saturday, but ran into more issues, resulting in a 13th-place finish.
He returned a couple weeks later to Sunset to score a 14th, followed by running inside top-10 all feature long at Peterborough Speedway to place ninth. He backed it up with a 13th at Flamboro Speedway.
The year-end stretch to finish the year took him back to Delaware, where he redeemed himself with a 10th. Unfortunately, the luck did not follow him to Flamboro as he suffered mechanical gremlins on Lap 28 to place 14th. He completed the year with a 14th at the Autumn Colours Classic.
Despite having some mechanical issues throughout the year, consistency and improvement allowed Wilson to put together a career-best points standings finish of seventh.
