Finding more speed as the season went on to score a couple top-10’s through the summer months, Tyler Liscum placed sixth in the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It standings.
Unfortunately, he did not start off his season well at Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity, forced to pull pit side in the feature fueled by Touchwood Cabinets due to mechanical issues before the green flag. He was credited with a 17th-place finish.
Looking to rebound a month later at Sauble Speedway, he ran just outside of the top-10 throughout the 40-lap feature en route to a 14th. He returned to Sunset a week later and battled all race long en route to a 12th.
The bad luck returned when Liscum made the trek to Delaware Speedway in July, as he was one of several caught up in the first lap crash to place 15th. He returned to the half-mile a day later to start on pole for the feature, battling throughout to his first top-10 of 2022 with a ninth.
After going for a spin in qualifying at Sunset a couple weeks later, he battled just outside the top-10 through the 40-lap feature to place 11th. He was ready to turn his season around in August at Peterborough, placing second in his first JRS Auctions heat. The strong qualifying effort allowed him to take the feature green flag on the front row, where he battled inside the top-10 all race long to a season-best seventh.
He carried the momentum to Flamboro Speedway to start the feature once again on the front row, though was involved in an incident with nine laps to go en route to placing ninth. He suffered more bad luck at Delaware a month later, with his feature ending on Lap 8 due to mechanical issues.
He hoped to turn things around at Flamboro a week later, battling inside the top-10 most of the feature en route to placing 11th. He found his groove in the season finale at Peterborough, once again racing with the leaders throughout, crossing the finish line in eighth.
Despite some rough moments throughout, Tyler Liscum persevered through those to put together some strong performances.
