Despite a rough start to the season, Dale Reinhart was able to utilize consistency and perseverance to score a third-place finish in the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It standings.
The season started off with a wreck at Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity, after getting into the frontstretch wall to end his afternoon early at the halfway mark. He’d rebound a couple weeks later at Sauble Speedway to start front row for the feature, running inside the top-three all feature long to score a third-place finish. He backed it up when the series returned to Sunset with another top-five race-long performance to place fourth.
The month of July did not kick off as warranted, as he was one of several involved in the first lap wreck at the Friday evening event. Thanks to a car being loaned to him from Norman Newman, and some parts from his own, Reinhart was able to come back on the Saturday to score a fifth-place finish. The momentum followed him back to Sunset, where he led a couple opening laps in the feature en route to fourth.
The summer kept things rolling in August, as he ran top-five throughout the feature once again at Peterborough Speedway to place fifth. He did not start off the feature at Flamboro Speedway smoothly with a trip through the backstretch grass due to contact on the start, but was able to drive his way back through the field for a fourth.
The stretch to complete the year began solidly at Delaware with an eighth, followed by his most impressive run of the season at Flamboro’s Frostoberfest where he ran top-five all feature long to a score a season-best runner-up. He then capped it off with a fifth at Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic.
Even with a couple incidents to start off the season, it turned out to be a solid year with consistency leading Dale Reinhart to success.
