After a week off to catch their breath, the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd. OSCAAR Modifieds will head to Delaware Speedway for a 40-lap feature, presented by Lloyd’s Paving.
Chad Strawn has been strong thus far, scoring a podium finish in each of his two starts this season. He scored a seventh in his lone start with OSCAAR in the past years at Delaware Speedway.
Gary Elliott should be a driver to watch this weekend, scoring a top-10 finish in 11 of his last 14 features, including a victory last season. In his past five starts at Delaware Speedway, he scored a track-best fifth in September of 2015.
A.J. Emms enters this weekend with momentum, with only five finishes outside of the top-eight in his past 25 series starts. The driver of the No. 14 Modified has ran up front at Delaware Speedway previously, scoring four top-five’s in six starts, including a trip to victory lane in July.
Sault St. Marie native Mike Hearty hopes to break into the top-five, after six top-10’s last season and a rough season to date in 2019. In his last two starts at Delaware Speedway, he scored finishes of eighth and 12th.
Luke Gignac has been running strong lately, with a top-six finish in 11 of the last 14 races, including a fourth last month at Flamboro. In each of his four features at Delaware, he posted a top-eight finish, including a track-best fourth.
Dale Reinhart has only three previous starts at Delaware Speedway, scoring a track-best third in July. He’s no stranger to running up front in OSCAAR competition, finishing just one feature outside of the top-eight this year.
Jase Cornell hopes to keep the positive momentum going following a top-10 in 11 of the last 15 races. Notably, he finished 10th in his first trip to Delaware Speedway in July.
Wally Wilson hopes to be in the thick of the action this weekend after running just outside of the top-10 thus far this season. He has yet to run a modified event at Delaware Speedway, though.
Jason Keen has already shown speed behind the wheel, scoring five top-10 finishes this season. He hopes to carry the positive momentum into Delaware Speedway following a ninth-place finish in July.
Craig Scott will be handing the driving duties of the No. 69s modified to Donny Beatty. Beatty is no stranger to racing, as he has previously run a modified with OSCAAR.
As previously noted, Jeff Showler knows what it takes to run well at Delaware Speedway as it was the site of his lone series victory to date. A good run this weekend would be nice after finishing sixth at Delaware in July.
Jason Bowden also knows how to run well, scoring five top-10 finishes in his 2018 rookie campaign. Thus far, his limited schedule with three starts hasn’t seen him return to the front yet.
Mark Hamacher will hope to break into the top-10 this weekend after finishing 13th at Delaware Speedway in July.
The MavTV Canada OSCAAR Modified Rookie of the Year battle will certainly have everybody’s attention this season, with a mix of talented drivers hoping to walk away with the prize at year-end.
Anthony DiBello has shown speed this year with six top-10 finishes. He will be a driver to watch following a runner-up in his first appearance at Delaware in July.
Norman Newman is not looking like a rookie thus far, after turning three top-five finishes. One of those came at Delaware Speedway in July with a fifth.
Bryan Batty, meanwhile, hasn’t had as smooth of a start thus far, fighting through mechanical issue. This weekend will mark his first appearance at Delaware.
The racing promises to be action-packed with several strong contenders hoping to pick up the checkered flag. Also on tap for Saturday, August 17 at Delaware Speedway is the ISMA Super Modifieds and the track’s own Super Stock division.
